Would having front brake pads changed cause front wheels to go out of alignment?

I just had new front brake pads put on my 99 civic and now it kinda feels a little shaky in the steering wheel at higher, highway speeds..do u think it needs an alignment now?

Did they do a tire rotation with the brake job? If so then maybe the rears, now up front were a little out of balance. Or if the only put the brake pads in and did not turn, (resurface) the rotors that would cause that too.

It sounds to me you need all four wheels balanced. Or if this shaking happens when you apply the brakes then the rotors need to be turned. It will not effect the alignment and the alignment ( bad or good )will not cause a shake in the wheel. Good Luck.

no connection between the two, this should not happen
brakes dont effect allignment at all. and even if your alignment was out it would not cause your wheels to shake. just pull one way or another. it sounds to me like your mechanic lefts something loose. go back and make them fix it.
Nothing that affects the pads has anything to do with alignment. But if you had a loose balance weight, the moving of the wheels from the brake job could have knocked one loose.

I'd try a wheel balance before an alignment, or get them both done in one go.
The pads do not change your alignment. If your rotors are warped, during a brake application the steering wheel will pull left or right, and or , shake. If the car pulls while driving without stepping on the brakes,,, you need an alignment. If the car shakes without stepping on the brakes, you should have your tires balanced, might have a bent wheel. Hope this helps
brake pad change should not affect alignment. simple things first: check to make sure all the lug nuts are tight. then have the balance checked on the front tires. it is possable that a wheel weight was knocked off.
