Changing my brake pads tommrow and have a few questions?

Do i need to take the top off the master cylinder reservoir when i push the piston back in on the caliper or at any time during replacing my pads?

My brake fluid level is nearly at the max and i plan i replacing front and rear pads, should i take some of the fluid out before i start?

when you push the pistons back in any oil behind the piston will go back up the pipe making the master cylinder over flow when i do this job i remove some of the fluid by soaking it up with cloth

yes you should take the top off the master cylinder first to releave the pressure. i did,nt do that once and i blew the rear seal out of the master cylinder. when your pushing the piston back in on the calipers you can blow the seal out of the master cylinder. i learnt the hard way.
You may get some overflow when you compress the calipers but it can't blow out any seals. The master cylinder has an air vent ( if it didn't you would create a vacuum in the master cylinder which would prevent it from working)
you dont do anything with the master cylinder when changing brakes...if you do get air in the lines, (only if you disconnect the lines) then you may want to bleed the brakes when you get them changed..
should yes remove lid for sure keeps it from blowing a seal

you can suck some fluid but dont have too it washes off with water if you spill it

you can type into search box

how to replace brake pads

how to remove brake rotors

how to bleed brakes

and pretty much know how to do any car
