Does anyone have step by step directions on how to change brake pads on a 02 Altima?

i own a repair shop, and all you do is jack it up,and take off the wheel, then take off the caliper bolts that hold it on ,then remove it, the pads will come off it now ,loosen the bleeder screw a little and lightly press the caliper back in towards the caliper ,not to fast on this, some fluid will come out of the bleeder when you do this, then place the new pads in place and install the caliper back on it,be sure and tighten all the bolts up good,re tighten the bleeder screw and put the wheel back on ,and that's it,don't get in the car and hit the brakes hard the first time ,do it slowly and they will go down,do it again slowly, and you,ll feel them go down some ,the last time you can press them normal they should be alright, good luck i hope this help,s

Well, they are all pretty similar. But if you would prefer the step by step guide, to your local auto zone, and pick up a Chilton manual, usually around $15. If you would like the simple explanation, email me and I will describe it.

dodgeman forgot to bleed the brakes- if you do what he suggests, you will have a spongy brake pedal! The way to replace the pads depends on whether it's front or rear brakes- Front's are easier, rear's require special tools, I suggest a shop to do those...
